Luke Del Castillo to Launch People-Powered Campaign for Michigan's 92nd House District

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. Luke Del Castillo, Democratic candidate for Michigan's 92nd House District, will officially launch his campaign at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, outside 201 S. University Ave. in Mount Pleasant. The public kickoff will be followed by a campaign fundraiser inside the lobby of 201 S. University Ave.

The kickoff will bring together neighbors, volunteers, community members, and local leaders to mark the beginning of a campaign focused on making life more affordable, supporting rural downtowns and small businesses, expanding access to childcare, strengthening workforce opportunities, and making sure local voices are heard in Lansing.

“This campaign is about the people who work hard, care deeply, and still feel like government is too far away from their everyday lives,” Luke said. “I’m running because our communities deserve leadership that shows up, listens, and then gets to work. We need a representative who understands that affordability, childcare, small businesses, and strong local economies are not talking points - they are the building blocks of a good life.”

Luke’s campaign is rooted in service, community, and action. As president of the Royal Starr Arts Institute, a board member of the Broadway Theatre in Mount Pleasant, and former Director of Place-Based Business Development at the Middle Michigan Development Corporation, Luke has spent years helping build community connections, support small businesses, strengthen local economies, and create opportunities for people to stay and thrive in Michigan.

“This district is full of people with pride, grit, creativity, and heart,” Luke added. “Our job is to make sure they have the support, opportunities, and representation they deserve.”
